Book Review: Stop Dating The Church

Joshua Harris’ “Stop Dating The Church” is an accessible but important message about the importance of the Church. He does not focus on the global church, but instead points to the scriptural emphasis on the local church. Harris shows things to look for in a church — my favorite was “Look for a church willing to kick you out.”

Harris also encourages re-evaluating our view of the priority and depth of church involvement. He actually goes so far as to ask why we would pick a college and then hope to find a good church instead of the other way around.

Harris relies heavily on quotes from the Bible, Charles Spurgeon, John Piper and Don Whitney.

Good read.
